Weekend Recap: 4th of July Edition

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend!  Because of being super busy at work, I am going to try to keep this as short as possible.  However- I must say, that I had a fabulous weekend!

The weekend started off great.  Not only did I get out of work early, I was able to meet up with Miss Molly for dinner and a much needed pedicure.  It was so great to catch up with Molly!  Yay for great food with a great friend and pretty feet!

Molly and I after dinner.
Saturday morning started like any other Saturday morning- AM workout.  At 5:45, my alarm went off and I some how managed to drive myself to beach to swim with some of my awesome teammates.  We did a 1.2 mile open water swim, and then we set off on a 10 mile run. Our run ended up being a little less than 12 miles, because my group managed to get lost.  Opps!
Post workout- still smiling :)
After my workout, I headed straight for home.  Translation- I showed up at my parents' house, sweaty, stinky, hungry and slightly cranky.  However, Mom and Fuzzy always know how to make me feel better.  When I got home, there were BBQ pulled pork sliders and fresh coleslaw waiting for me.  Plus, Mom even made me Strawberry and Blueberry Pretzel salad.  If definitely sounds like a strange combination, but trust me- IT'S DELICIOUS!
Welcome Home!
Strawberry and Blueberry Goodness!
Duke had a long workout too. :)
After a "quick nap" (3 hours- I am a world class napper), we went to dinner and came home to watch a movie.  Dinner was great, but I was too busy stuffing my face and catching up with Mom and Fuzzy to take any pictures.  Once we got home we turned on TANGLED! :) Yes, 3 adults decided to watch Tangled.  It was super cute and really funny.  I love the chameleon! I probably should say that my parents did not buy this movie for themselves.  It was purchased for my 4 year old niece.  But who says we can't watch it too??
One of my new favorites!
Before, I headed back to D.C. on Sunday, I actually got to stop at Orr's.  Orr's is a farmer's market near my parent's house. This place is amazing!  You get super fresh fruit and veggies, as well as milk, cheese, meat and most importantly pie.

Monday morning, the Captain and I squeezed in a short run and some errands before the grilling, eating, drinking and fireworks began.  I cannot think of a better way to spend Independence Day!
Mango Mojitos
The Grill Master
Oh yeah!  Grilled nectarine with vanilla bean ice cream topped with a blackberry and raspberry  reduction served on top of a slice of grilled pineapple.  DELICIOUS!
Post Fireworks
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th!
